"TilaPLUS genetic analysis" is a genomic test (based on a panel of low-density SNPs-Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms) for performing genomic analyzes of parentage, paternity and genetic structure of tilapia breeding stock matrices. This information allows rational mating planning, bringing the following advantages to fingerling producers: (a) identification of the kinship relationship between tilapia breeders, for pedigree reconstruction and mating orientation for (b) breeding stock replacement, (c) ) generation of parents, and/or (d) structuring of breeding programs; (e) analyzes of variability and population structure within and (f) between flocks, for (g) use guidance, (h) management and (i) exchange of germplasm within and between producers. These processes result in a reduction in the loss of fingerling production due to inbreeding of tilapia matrices; allow the rationalization of the use and trade of germplasm (matrices and young forms intended for the formation of new breeders) based on validated technical analyses; culminating in the production of quality fingerlings with traceability.
