Graduate in Chemical Engineering from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1989), mastership (1993) and doctorate (1997) in Chemical and Biochemical Process Technology by Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Visitor researcher at the Agricultural Research Service / USDA / WRRC, USA, in the area of biodegradable composites. She joined the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation - Embrapa in 1995 and she is currently Researcher A at Tropical Agroindustry Embrapa. She is a permanent member of the faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, in Federal University of Ceará, and Researcher 1D of CNPq. She has experience in biomass technology, with emphasis on add-value to co-products and agro-industrial wastes. She operates on the following topics: bio-economy, bionanocomposites, biodegradable polymers, vegetable fibers, innovations of natural biobased products, and nanocelulose.
