She holds a bachelor's degree in Biology from the Federal University of Viçosa (1984), a master's degree in Entomology from the Federal University of Viçosa (1989) and a doctorate in Biology - Northern Arizona University (1998). She is a researcher at Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology since 1989. She has experience in the field of Ecology, with emphasis on Insect Ecology, working mainly on the following topics: population dynamics, interaction plant - insect pest - natural enemies, conservative biological control and pollination in agroecosystems. Currently, she is working on projects to evaluate the pollination services provided by bees in cultivated plants and also on projects to analyze the environmental risk of stressors on non-target organisms, especially pollinating insects.
