Researcher holding a CNPq Productivity in Research Fellowship, with a Bachelors degree in Agronomy, a specialization in Biotechnology and Plant Breeding from the École Nationale Supérieure Agronomique de Toulouse (ENSAT), France, and a Ph.D. in Sciences from the Federal University of Pelotas. From 2010 to 2011, he was a visiting researcher at the Scottish Crop Research Institute (SCRI), Scotland, United Kingdom, where he also conducted his postdoctoral research. He is currently a researcher at Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology (Cenargen) and an accredited graduate advisor at the masters and doctoral levels in the Graduate Programs in Botany and Forest Sciences at the University of Brasília. He is also a graduate advisor in the Graduate Program in Biotechnology at the Federal University of Amazonas. In addition, he serves as a collaborator in the Graduate Programs in Biotechnology and Biodiversity (Pró-Center-West Network) at the University of Brasília and in Biodiversity and Biotechnology of the Legal Amazon (Bionorte Network). He serves as a scientific consultant and reviewer for several national and international journals, as well as for State Research Support Foundations and national funding agencies, such as CAPES and CNPq. He has experience in the field of Agricultural Sciences, with emphasis on Plant Developmental Physiology and on the use, conservation, and cryopreservation of plant genetic resources. His main research interests include plant developmental and reproductive biology, somatic embryogenesis, ex situ conservation, cryopreservation, liquid culture systems, and temporary immersion systems.
