Bachelors degree in Agronomy from the Federal University of Espírito Santo and a Masters and PhD in Crop Science (Plant Production) from the Federal University of Viçosa. He currently serves as Deputy Head of Research and Development at Embrapa Agroenergy. As a researcher, he conducts activities focused on biomass production and genetic improvement, with particular emphasis on the adaptation of canola to tropical climates. He is a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow (PQ1C) and serves as Embrapas representative on the Sectoral Chamber for Oilseeds and Biodiesel (CSOB/MAPA). He coordinates the following RD projects: Bioinova/Finep; MapCanola/Petrobras; SAFCANOLA/CNPq; and BRSCANOLA/Advanta. At Embrapa Agroenergy, he has also held management positions, including Deputy Head of Communication and Business (2011) and Supervisor of the Institutional Development Unit (20162021). To date, he has published 121 scientific articles in indexed journals (h-index = 22, with 1,131 citations), 23 books or book chapters, and 190 papers in conference proceedings.
