Eduardo Matos is Agronomy Engineer and Master in Soil Science (Federal University of Viçosa - Brazil) and PhD in Natural Sciences (Brandenburg University of Tecnology - Germany). He is a researcher at Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation - Embrapa, evaluating the effects of different management systems on soil carbon dynamics, such as no-tillage system, crop rotation, agroforestry systems, pasture, forest restoration, and integrated crop-livestock-forest. From 2015 to 2016 he served as Executive Secretary of the Research Committee at Embrapa Agrosilvopastoral and as Deputy Head of Research and Development. He coordinated the preparation and implementation of the Embrapa Agrosilvopastoral's Master Plan and also coordinated the implementation of the research topic on Soil Carbon Dynamics, as well as the Scientific Instrumentation for Soil Science Research of Embrapa Agrosilvopastoral. From 2012 to 2022, he served a Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Agronomy of the Federal University of Mato Grosso, on soil topic. Currently, he serves as Embrapa's Head of Strategic Advsory Office.
