I hold a degree in Food Engineering, as well as a Masters and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, and I completed a sandwich PhD in 2008 at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. I have expertise in the development of chemical and biotechnological processes, with a focus on the following areas: water management in swine, poultry, and fish processing industries; detection of trace compounds in aqueous matrices; nitrate photoreduction; homogeneous and heterogeneous kinetic studies for effluent treatment; and the synthesis and characterization of nanocatalysts. I have worked at Embrapa Western Region in Mato Grosso do Sul, Embrapa Swine and Poultry in Santa Catarina, served as General Head of Embrapa Fisheries and Aquaculture in Tocantins from January 2021 to December 2025, and I am currently working at Embrapa Digital Agriculture in São Paulo.
